THE SPIRIT BEHIND IT
The Spicy Margarita was inevitable. In the early 2000s, bartenders in San Francisco began infusing tequila with peppers. Citrus and heat pair beautifully with tequila, and when these cocktails reached Texas, they found a natural home. The Lone Star State’s deep connection to Mexican cuisine and bold flavors primed drinkers for heat. By the 2010s, spicy Margaritas were here to stay. Salud to that!
