Tequila Old Fashioned
A classic spin on an old favorite
THE SPIRIT BEHIND IT
Blame tradition. The Old Fashioned defaults to whiskey, but Socorro Tequila Añejo brings something different: cooked agave, warm spice, and a touch of rich tropical notes that are beautiful with bitters. Jalisco Liqueur adds depth and a subtle citrus sweetness. What you get is familiar, but brighter and more alive. It respects the traditional drink, but pushes it forward. An Old Fashioned, rethought through agave.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 oz Socorro Añejo
- 1 oz Jalisco Liqueur Orange
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Orange peel (garnish)
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Add ingredients to a mixing glass and stir.
- Fill an Old Fashioned glass with one large ice cube and pour ingredients over ice.
- Express orange peel over the glass, rub along the rim, and garnish with the peel.
Taste it. Adjust. Make it yours.

Pablo’s Tip
Use a high-quality, big ice cube. Do not use bright-red Maraschino Cherries. They are for ice cream. Use brandied cherries, such as Luxardo Maraschino Cherries or Amarena Wild Cherries.

Socorro Añejo
Socorro Tequila Añejo is crafted in the Highlands of Jalisco from 100% Blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens and aged 14 months in American oak barrels for a rich, balanced character that’s ideal for sipping or spirit-forward cocktails.
